Caring For Your Shih Tzus Teeth

Just as it is important to care for my own teeth and gums, I have to take care of my Shih Tzus' mouth as well. I provide my Shih Tzu with plenty of bones and chew toys to assist in removing plaque and there are several busy bones I can find at the supermarket that are both yummy and good for dental care.
By brushing my Shih Tzus' teeth though, I can help provide a more thorough dental routine.
When first starting to brush your Shih Tzus' teeth, use specially formulated dog toothpaste and begin slowly. It is helpful to use a child size toothbrush or even one that can slide onto your finger. Brush for only a few seconds and gradually increase the duration over several weeks.
When I care for my Shih Tzus' teeth, I also strengthen the bond between us.
